Our Firm is headed by Daniel S. Carusi, Esq., who has practiced law in Florida for 33 years since 1985. Daniel is a long-time resident of South Florida, having graduated from The Lear School in 1977.
After high school, Daniel went on to attend college at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he studied urban political sociology and graduated in 1981. While at Brown, Daniel played four (4) years of varsity soccer. While a freshman, Daniel played on the Brown varsity soccer team that advanced to the NCAA Division 1 ”Final Four”, which was held that year in San Francisco, CA. Daniel had a highly successful collegiate soccer career and would go on to be elected co-captain of Brown’s varsity soccer team his senior year.
After college, Daniel attended law school at the University of Miami School of Law, in Coral Gables, Florida, graduating in 1985. He then started his legal career practicing law with the well-known and respected A.P. Walter Jr. P.A. law firm, where he handled criminal law and real estate. In 1988, Daniel opened his own law practice – Daniel S. Carusi, P.A. – at the same location his practice is at today in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Daniel has been a “Level One Member” with Attorneys’ Title Fund Services, LLC, successor in interest by merger to Attorney’s Title Insurance Fund, Inc., since 1992. He is a member of the Florida Bar Real Estate and Probate Section, the Broward County Bar Association, Real Estate and Probate Section and Broward Attorneys Real Estate Council (BAREC). Daniel has been a Speaker/Lecturer for Lorman Educational Services, The Eviction Process, Fall, 2010; National Business Institute, Troubleshooting Title and Title Insurance Problems, Summer, 2011; National Business Institute, Title Workshop: From Examination to Commitment, Winter, 2012; and Lorman Educational Services, Evictions: Residential and Commercial, Spring, 2012.
Some of the litigation cases Daniel has handled during his career have resulted in appellate judicial opinions which have been reported (published) in the official law reports. These cases are State vs. D’Angelo, 575 So.2d 643 (Fla. 1991); Frederic v. State, 770 So.2d 719 (Fla. 4th DCA 2000); In Re: Guardianship of D’Aiuto, 560 So.2d 238 (Fla. 4th DCA 1990), Durand v. State, 590 So.2d 505 (Fla.. 4th DCA 1991); Spector v. Spector, 676 So.2d 1376 (Fla. 4th DCA 1996); USA v. Pino, 855 F.2d 357 (6th Cir. 1988).
